It expands the scope of the market, set of skills and job opportunities for a certified professional, significantly.

PMBOK

The latest version of The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) was released in the year 2017. PMBOK, developed by the Project Management Institute (PMI), is a complete set of concepts, guidelines, terminologies, and various other aspects that are relevant to project management. Apart from providing comprehensive Project Management knowledge, PMBOK also contains a general understanding of business-related activities like organizing, planning, executing, evaluating, and controlling. It also includes management operations like:

● Forecasting: Financial forecasting is the financial projection of outcomes of a business.

● Budgeting: Ascertaining a financial plan for a certain period of time, which is usually 12 months.

● Management Science: It deals with the study of management activities, and utilizing scientific research-based principles to replace obsolete techniques with efficient ones.

● Organizational Behavior: It deals with the study of human behavior in a professional setting. It can be categorized into 3 levels: micro, macro, and meso-level.

● Other operations.

PMBOK is divided into 10 key knowledge areas and 5 process groups:

PMI Standard Development

The key reason behind PMP Certification training’s universal recognition is the standards that are followed by the course. The standards are developed by following a careful approach that ensures maximum optimization. Below is how the Project Management Institute (PMI) develops standards:

1. The standards are developed by a committee that comprises of chairman, vice- chairman, and volunteers.

2. The committee holds meetings over the duration of many months to draft and refine the standards.

3. The draft that is developed is reviewed by the PMI standards Member’s Advisory Group, and other experts.

4. The reviewed draft is then made public. Based on the comments of the general public, the draft is revised again.

5. The resulting standard is sent for approval to volunteers that validate each PMI standard.

6. Upon reference by the PMI standards Manager, the new standard is finally sent for approval of the CEO and the president of PMI.
