The Technical Task Of An Employment Drive

employment drive

You don’t have to be a genius to work out that technology can make life much easier when you’re starting a business. There are guides everywhere about how digital marketing and social media hold the keys to success. Not to mention that cloud storage has helped many businesses lead the way with remote working and other alternatives to the standard office setup.

In many ways, we’re operating in the future of our young dreams. But, we haven’t got it all worked out yet. We’re still relatively green in our understanding of how much technology can help us. While we speak about some methods until we’re blue in the face, others slip under the radar without notice.

A good example of this would be that of employment. Not so long ago, the only employee recruiting options for an employer were window advertisements and resumes. Technology has expanded our employment reach no end, yet many of us are still using the old methods.

To ensure you don’t make the same mistake, we’re going to look at a few of the ways technology can help with your next employment drive.

Advertising

First, of course, is the advertising. A flyer in your window isn’t the best way to reach a variety of applicants. The chances are that the few responses you do get will provide somewhat limited options.

Instead, it’s worth heading online for your applicant advertising. You could head to one of the many job search engines available. Hundreds of job seekers now use these instead of searching out and about. Plus, this has the benefit of reaching a broad range of applicants.

You could also advertise on social media. If you use the right hashtag, you can be sure people will see. Just make sure to provide a link to application alongside your post!

Accepting Applications

Technology has also greatly increased your possibilities for accepting applications. Instead of relying on people dropping in, you can now provide an email address or a form on your website. You could encourage people to send resumes electronically, or provide an online application.

This can be a useful way to get more precise information about each candidates.

Keeping Track Of Candidates

Technology also promises to make it much easier to keep track of applicants. In the past, endless resumes would’ve been the only thing you had to go on. This way, it's all too easy for interview slots to clash. Plus, it can be difficult to keep track of individual candidates. Now, though, you can log everything on your computer. One option would be to research the top 10 applicant tracking systems available. With these, you would be able to keep small business interviews time and any other information in one neat place.

Or, you could turn to programs such as Google sheets to keep track of everything. Though not as extensive, this would work just as well if you had a modest amount of applicants. Here, you can store interview times, and any notes you have from your interview.
