5 Tips To Make Working On The Road Child’s Play

tips working on the road field work

Working on the road a lot can be a hassle. It sometimes feels like you have to carry your whole office with you. And not to mention all the things you have to think about: “have I brought everything with me, how long will the battery of my laptop last, will I get to my meeting in time…”. All in all, working on the road can give you a lot of stress. But being prepared is half the job. In this article, we give you a few tips on how to prepare yourself for your job on the road.

Packing List

If you work on the road a lot, you have to bring quite some stuff. After all, you don’t have a desk with drawers full of office equipment at your fingertips… Are you often forgetful, then make sure to spend some time on an extended list of all the stuff you need to bring with you. It may take some time to make it, but remember you can use this list every time you hit the road. There are many apps you can use to make a clear and detailed list. Some even have the ability to set packing reminders for certain items.

Portable Charger

While on the road you don’t always have access to a power outlet. And what if you really need your phone to call someone or your laptop to finalise your business presentation and their batteries are dead? Panic! Therefore, make sure to always bring a portable wireless charger with you. Charge it the day before and you can use your devices at any time.

Noise-Cancelling Headphones

Sometimes you have to do work that asks the utmost concentration of you. But if you work on the road, a crowded cafe or noisy train is often your work environment. You can imagine that concentrating here can be a little difficult. If you really want to work in complete silence, make sure to bring some noise-cancelling headphones. These headphones pick up low-frequency noises and neutralise them before it reaches the ear. With these headphones you can work in busy areas without getting distracted!

Mini Beamer

Do you need a big screen in order to present your ideas to clients or showcase your work? Then you probably need a beamer. Most beamers are not ideal to bring with you along the road due to their weight and size. Luckily there are so-called mini LED beamers that you can easily carry with you. These are ideal if you’re on the road a lot. And no worries about displaying large projections in smaller rooms. With a mini beamer it’s a piece of cake!

Cover And Waterproof Case

While traveling your electronic devices are more prone to accidents. Therefore, it’s of major importance that you protect them. Imagine that you spill your coffee on your tablet. Or what if your laptop gets broken while you’re rushing to a meeting with one of your biggest clients… Therefore, make sure that you protect your electronic devices with a (waterproof) cover or case. Hopefully with these tips your job on the road will be a breeze!
