Let's look at our add-on, which estimates the time in status for Jira's cloud version.

Since its downloading, the Time in Status Jira Cloud add-on has continually added new capabilities, expanded on existing ones, and enhanced user experience. Consequently, you can get 7 types of status time reports and boost your team's productivity with only a few clicks.

Time in Status for Jira Cloud by SaaSJet allows you to keep track of how much time is spent in each status during the workflow process. Also, you can get the time spent in a particular status group, average time, assignee time, or the time spent in status for a user group. It allows you to identify problem areas quickly and find positive dynamics using a chart report, track time spent directly on the issue view panel, and export data for further analysis.

7 Types Of Time-Management Reports

Time in Status for Jira Cloud includes 7 types of time reports: Time in Status, Assignee Time, Average Time, Status Entrance Date, Time in Status per Date, Status Count, and Transition Count.

This add-on allows you generate time in status data. The following 4 reports provide varied information on the time spent in status. Let's take a closer look at how each one works in practice.

Time In Status

A Time in Status report can assist you in determining the duration of time each issue has been in various Jira statuses. Customers may use this report to keep track of the issue's current status and the total time it has spent in each status (and add additional custom fields using the column manager). You can select one of the multi-calendars to get even more relevant data in the Time in Status report (available for all reports). As a result, you will have access to data about the team you wish to increase their efficiency.

The additional function of the Time in Status report is that you can monitor Lead time and Cycle time by setting a Status group. Learn more info by reading the 3 tools to analyze Cycle and Lead Time in the Jira article.

Assignee Time In Status

An Assignee Time report shows how much time a particular team member has been assigned to each issue. Admins can also create custom groups using this report. For example, if you have two support teams - L1 and L2, you can customize each column by creating a user group for each team.

Average Time in Status

This report determines the average amount of time an issue has been spent in each status during a specific period. Furthermore, a status group  option allows users to get an average cycle and lead time. The Average time report enables you to compare data at several intervals: daily, weekly, monthly, or even quarterly. It is pretty helpful to see this information as a chart to get a helicopter perspective on average time in Jira status (Pie, Bar, Area charts).

Time In Status Per Date

The Time in Status per Date report calculates the number of times the issue has been in a particular status and shows the dates. The main benefit of this report is that it gives you an overall picture of how much time you spent at each status during the specified period.

Let's take a look at the last three reports.

The following reports provide a historical perspective of Jira's workflow steps. That is to say, you can see the exact info on how and when the issue moves through the working process.

Status Entrance Date

Displays the date and time when the issue has entered each of the statuses for the first time.

Status And Transition Count

A Status Count report determines how many times an issue has been in each status, whereas a Transition Count report shows how many times an issue has transitioned from one status to another. As a result, while monitoring workflow processes in your projects, these reports will provide a more detailed perspective.

Exporting of all reports as XLSX or CSV files is available. You can dive deeply into analysis to improve your business flow.
