True, you can mix vodka with practically anything—soft drinks, juice, coffee and even jam. Although there are so many options, it is hard to come up with something new here. So instead of trying to impress you, we have rounded up some vodka-based cocktails that we love ourselves. Technically, all the cocktails listed here can be made with any type of vodka, but its Beluga by Noblewood Group that gives them the taste and quality to make your party unforgettable! Before we continue, please bear in mind that we encourage you to drink sensibly and responsibly.
Vodka Martini
• 2 ounces (60 ml) vodka
• 1 ounce (30 ml) dry vermouth
• Olive or lemon peel – whichever you are in the mood for
Let’s start off with the classic! Here comes the “Vodkatini” – one of the cocktails that became popular because of the James Bond franchise. This one only has two main ingredients, so there’s no room to spare on quality – both have to be top-notch. For the vodka part – Beluga by Noblewood Group, of course. But with the vermouth it gets a little trickier!
You can use the Dolin Dry Vermouth, which has almond and grape notes with a slight pine flavour, or Martini Extra Dry with a bright herbal and woody flavour, or Martini Bianco for a sweet flavour with a hint of vanilla. The final choice depends on your preferences. If you would like a touch of juniper, go for the first option. Pick the second option for a neutral flavour, and Martini Bianco if you are a sweet tooth like we are!
Stir the Beluga-Martini combination with a little ice together or put them in a cocktail shaker. Pour the drink into a chilled martini glass. Serve with a twist of lemon peel or an olive on a cocktail stick. Shake or stir – you decide!
White Russian
• 2 ounces (60 ml) vodka
• 1 ounce (30 ml) Kahlúa
• 1 ounce (30 ml) heavy cream
That is the one from “The Big Lebowski”? – Yes, it is!
The cocktail was around way before the movie, but it is Jeff Bridges’ character that made it into the legend we know today. Beluga for the vodka part, Kahlúa – for the coffee liqueur part and cream – for the cream part. Pour the mix over ice in a tumbler, stir and you are good to go! You could even add a few drops of chocolate syrup if you want to make a black Russian alcoholic drink!
By the way, depending on the cream you are using it might be a good idea to run some tests before you really go all out. We recommend using single cream for this recipe, but you might find that you would rather replace cream with milk altogether for a more liquid texture.
Raspberry Jam Cocktail
• 2 ounces (60 ml) vodka
• 10 ounces (300 ml) Schweppes (lemon or lime)
• 1 tablespoon raspberry jam
• Ice cubes
Strangely enough, if you have no jam for this cocktail – that is no problem, because you can make some right on the spot. Just crush some fresh raspberries with caster sugar inside a glass to make a paste. Add ice, Beluga, top it with Schweppes till the glass is full, stir to combine and serve.
Vodka Berry Smash
• 2 ounces (60 ml) vodka
• 1/2 ounce (15 ml) simple syrup
• 1/2 ounce (15 ml) freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice
• 4-6 fresh berries like raspberries, strawberries, or blackberries
• Ice cubes
• Soda water (optional)
• Fresh mint leaves for garnish
Here come the big guns – I mean, the long drinks!
Better get a mixing glass or a pitcher for this one! First, turn the berries into a paste, add syrup and juice. Load the whooping 2 ounces of Beluga right in there and stir. Finally, try to gauge how strong or weak you want your Berry Smash to be and add soda accordingly (you can use Sprite or any other lemonade instead, in that case make sure the sweetness doesn’t kill the freshness of the drink).
Chocolate Martini
• 2 ounces (60 ml) vodka
• 1 ounce (30 ml) chocolate liqueur
• 1/2 ounce (15 ml) coffee liqueur (like Kahlúa)
• 1/2 ounce (15 ml) cream or milk
• Ice cubes
• Chocolate syrup for garnish
• Cocoa powder or grated chocolate for garnish
And for the dessert – the sweet tooth pleaser!
Unlike the previous cocktail, this chocolate martini is more like a desert, rather than an actual drink. Mix all the above ingredients in a shaker together with ice and shake hard until the shaker starts to feel cold. Strain into the glass and serve.
This one is more of a summer evening drink, when it is not that hot outside, but the party is still going.
