Who Said Outsourcing Was Cheap?

If you’ve read any articles on the internet about starting up a frugal business, then you’ve probably heard of people mention outsourcing. It’s the act of hiring a temporary employee in order to get your work done. For example, you might outsource your website design, or you could outsource your accounting. Almost anything can be outsourced and because you’re hiring a temporary employee, it doesn’t come with all the additional costs of hiring a full-time employee or even a part-time one. As a result, it’s usually the go-to method of getting some help that doesn’t involve a lot of money.

Sadly, if you’ve recently started your own at-home business, then you’ve probably realized one thing: it can still be expensive! Although you might not be paying outsourcing companies the same amount of money for a regular employee, you’ll quickly realize that the costs can add up and you’ll be paying exorbitant amounts to hire someone for a few days a week. Even worse, because the costs are so high you’ll constantly bleed money and lack the funds necessary to hire a full-time employee.

So to help you remedy this issue, here are a couple of even cheaper ways to get your business started when you need help. Keep in mind these are extremely frugal suggestions and not all of them are recommended unless you absolutely want to save money. You’ll also need to put in a bit more effort than usual, so keep this in mind! Source

Use Software

Who said that software can’t replace people? If machines are capable of replacing people and doing their jobs, then surely the stuff that operates machines (software, in this case) can also do the same thing! Some software companies can even help you with a mix of outsourcing and online cloud-based software. For instance, Bidrik create documents that can be used for a variety of different purposes to help you save time. Want to write up a proposal for an investor or business client? Then use the software to create something in a snap without hiring employees to write it for you or doing it yourself.

Ask Friends

Yes, this is a cheap option, but you’re a cheap business so can you really complain at this point? Asking friends to help with the promise of a job in the future or a share in the company can feel like a false promise, but it’s really the only way to convince someone close to you to give you a hand. Sometimes you've got to do what you've got to do in business! If you have extremely knowledgeable friends, then you might be able to make use of them and add them to your company as helpers.

Speak To Freelancers

You might be wondering what the difference between a freelancer and outsourcing is, and it would be the cost. Outsourcing is professionally done, freelancing doesn’t need to be. Freelancing can often open up many more opportunities, such as hiring a freelancer as a full or part-time employee since they aren’t professionally employed by a business. Their prices can often be negotiated as well, meaning if you want to pay less you can look for someone with less experience.
